Immanence Embodied
Immanence Embodied, presented at Berkshire House, is a groundbreaking collaboration between sculptor Jonathan Prince and composer Joep Beving. This project weaves together art, sound, and the transcendent experience of flow—a state of deep focus and effortless creativity.
At its center is Prince’s Flow State sculpture, designed to resonate in B-flat, a frequency identified as the "sound of the universe." This cosmic tone connects the sculpture’s fluid form with the vast rhythms of existence, serving as a bridge between the universal and the individual.
Beving’s minimalist musical composition, created in harmony with the sculpture’s resonance, takes the collaboration further by embedding sound directly into the artwork. Using an audio transducer, the sculpture becomes a living instrument, allowing visitors to not only hear but feel the music as vibrations course through it.
Together, the visual and auditory elements invite participants into a liminal space where time dissolves, offering an immersive encounter with flow and the interconnectedness of life. Immanence Embodied exemplifies the power of interdisciplinary art to move beyond intellectual boundaries and evoke profound sensory and emotional connections.
